An unplanned pregnancy on the mirena coil

I have 3 children to a previous partner. I was with my new boyfriend for 14 months but recently split up with him and then found out I'm pregnant.
He says he wants it, then says he doesn't. I can't think straight and was wondering if someone could give me any help etc. I'm in two minds about the whole thing as I have 3 other children. I don't understand how I've even become pregnant as I have a mirena coil and had it inserted 3 years ago. I've spoken to my family, well my mum as she's all I have, but also have my ex boyfriend's mum who said she'd support me no matter what!!! My head or heart isn't saying anything. Please help :(

It is unusual to become pregnant with a mirena coil in as they are considered a very effective contraception. If the coil is still in the right place, you will be one of a tiny number where it has failed. I think it would help you to talk through your options with a practitioner on the helpline, 0300 4000 999, or receive online pregnancy counselling and support by logging into the confidential service, for unplanned pregnancy support.
