Abortion at 10 weeks - nothing prepared me for what I saw

When I found out I was pregnant I was so shocked and not ready for another child. My little girl is 15 months old and with a list of health problems after having her I wasn't physically ready for another baby.

I had been back and forth at the hospital from 5 weeks. It took them that long to do anything. I was 10 weeks when having the abortion, on the Friday I took my first pill and returned the next day.

I come to my appointment at 9.30 was given 4 tablets to put into my mouth until they dissolved On my gums and another to insert in my bum.

After taking the 4 tablets I had hot and cold shivers. Within 15-20 minutes of been giving the tablets I started to feel slight pain which was bearable.

I got up to go to the toilet when I started to bleed having to use bed pans to monitor it.

Gradually the pain got worse and I had to have cocodamol to help with the pain.

At around 12.15 I went to the toilet with bad pains, this time I felt a sudden gush. Nothing prepared me for what I saw when I looked down, a proper little baby! I advise people not to look, this is when I felt like I made a huge mistake.

From then until 8pm I continued to have bad pain and passing clots the size of apples the nurse was a little worried and told me to prepare to go to theatre luckily things settled down.

Its something I never want to experience again in my life.
